DESIGN + CUSTOM FURNITURE
Tamworth
The Courthouse Hotel in Tamworth closed its doors in June 2019 for a major renovation and re-opened in September 2020. Having undergone a complete transformation including a new outdoor dining experience, updated bistro and bar and improved sports and gaming room, the hotel now prides itself as an asset to the local community where people can meet and come together for a drink and a meal.
As a heritage listed hotel, it was imperative the Courthouse retained its historic elements and identity whilst attracting and appealing to new ages and patrons visiting the hotel.
Warrane were briefed and engaged to conceive an experiential area that was welcoming and appealing to the locals of Tamworth as well as attracting visitors to the area.
Custom made art deco furniture was designed and installed throughout the hotel. There is now a combination of high and low tabletops which feature specialised brass trims on American Oak hardwood. Bentwood dining chairs complement the tables exuding a warm, comfortable experience for patrons. Tailored leather panel banquet seating has been installed throughout the bistro dining area, along with fluted glass components, all of which balance the heritage of the hotel whilst making it a truly relaxed dining experience.
The Courthouse now has the capacity to host small and intimate groups of 20 or larger gatherings of up to 350 people, catering to each party’s needs.
The courtyard area can accommodate 80 seated or 120 standing; the bistro area can host 120 seated or 160+ standing; a relaxed family area can seat 50 and the new public bar can entertain 40 seated or 80 standing.
A new outdoor dining and entertaining area has been incorporated for an indoor/outdoor dining experience.
Along with the new entertaining spaces comes a refreshed menu with a delicious variety of foods and flavours to satisfy all who wine and dine. Appealing to the locals of Tamworth, the Courthouse now provides weekly food and beverage specials which is proving to be popular. Since the renovation, the Courthouse has had over 8,100 people “check-in” to the hotel via Facebook. Proof that even in times of reduced trading hours with lockdowns enforced due to COVID, the hotel has been able to power through the pandemic and keep the locals happy. With regional tourism picking up, the hotel has experienced more tourists whose feedback has been extremely positive.
“A business that delivers visions.”
